Donegal to host Innovators Under 35 Europe Festival 2022

For the first time in its history, the Innovators Under 35 Europe Festival run by MIT Technology Review is coming to Ireland. May 19th — 21st 2022 will see one of the world’s most distinguished events honour young innovators who are helping solve problems of modern society. This annual, prestigious event celebrates young innovators who are going against the grain to become changemakers in terms innovation, creativity and enterprise.

Europe’s brightest innovators will gather in the Gaeltacht region of Gaoth Dobhair County Donegal, to showcase their work and meet likeminded visionaries who are who are using technological advancements to shape the future and transform lives. Applicants must be from Europe and under the age of 35 at the time of the event, and work on an innovative project that has potential to transform the world. There will be 35 winning candidates under 5 categories: Inventors, Entrepreneurs, Visionaries, Humanitarians and Pioneers. This includes achievements across fields such as AI, biotechnology, computers, electronics, hardware, internet, medicine, robotics, software and telecommunications. The committee of judges is made up of European and global changemakers from leading universities and innovative companies from MedTech, Green Technology, IT sectors and more. Keynote speakers will share learnings on sustainability, creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship. The festival will highlight the transformative power of technology for the world. This European event is part of a global network, with similar events taking place in China, South Korea, Japan, India and Latin America, and this year is being hosted by Údarás na Gaeltachta in County Donegal.
